Kingfish's Antiques

A reminder of my grandfather's ways

Our store is an 1860's home filled with antique furniture, glassware, collectibles and accent pieces.  The original logs are exposed throughout much of the home's interior making it the perfect setting for our inventory.

SALE SALE SALE

Yes. 20 % off anything in the shop that it isn't already marked down. We have a whole room of items marked 50% off.  We would like to move some more things in from storage so everything in the store will be sold at the lowest price possible.

Take a look at this oak leaded glass front bookcase (click on bookcase).

If you are out of town and see something in our inventory - CALL or send me and email.  We have delivery to anywhere in the U.S at a flat rate of $250 for pieces that do not need assembly or packaging.

It is getting hot again. The front porch is now enclosed. Our signage is not yet complete though so it's hard to tell we are a shop now. At least that is my excuse for the lack of walk in customers. It is also true that no one is moving these days and therefore they don't need any furniture. It is all one sale as we approach the end of the year. Plus I do have some old windows for anyone looking to be creative.

August 12th

We are currently having the porch enclosed at the shop and due to the work we have not been open on the weekdays. I do expect to be open tomorrow, Friday the 13th of all days. Maybe it'll be a good thing. Please browse the inventory pages online for now. If anything interests you drop us an email. We also have some other pieces in storage like a green velvet parlor chair  - a nice elegant touch or a McDougal Hoosier style cabinet for more functional country settings. The McDougal cabinet is a little simpler than the one shown below and available for $450.

My goodness, the year is going by fast.  July means we are past the halfway point.  Rick and I hope it is going well enough for everyone. We realize times are difficult for many.  Keep in mind our flexible layaway plans if there is something special you see on the inventory pages.  With a minimal downpayment, we more or less allow you to set the terms that fit within your budget.

Happy Father's Day

Have you been outside enjoying the warm summer weather?  Are you headed to the beach?  You must be going somewhere because you are not here.  And you are missing some great deals.  Beautiful pieces are marked down for inventory clearance.  Business has been good yet we need to keep moving pieces out so come in, make an offer...we might surprise you.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend

The shop has air conditioning.  Come in for a break from the heat if nothing else.  Rick will be glad to offer you some great deals. We are overstocked as the big retailers often say. We will be open our normal hours and will not be open Monday - Memorial Day.  We'll occasionally close early if it is stormy out. Feel free to call and say you are coming by though and we will wait.

The large pie safe with all it's hand punched tin is already SOLD and the buyers are very pleased with the way it looks in their home. We do have some other primitive pieces from that same auction.  A jelly cupboard, a Soap Hollow blanket chest and another pine chest that was once painted blue.  All are wonderful pieces.  Below are some of the the Van Tellingen Salt & Pepper shakers. They fit together as if the two are hugging.

Have I mentioned I have a few pieces of Luray Pastels and some nifty Van Tellingen Salt & Pepper shakers?
I do.
ALSO - here's the best part - straight from central Pennsylvania - the below pictured pie safe is the largest I have ever seen with four doors and two shelves over three doors and flanked by four punched tin panels.  It must have been a big family to have used this piece.
Delivery is now available to anywhere in the US !
This can be at your door for $2500 plus tax.

LINEN lovers come on over. There are quite a few vintage embroidered runners, napkins and crocheted doilies available for the picking. We also have brought a white marbletop dresser out of storage, If you are interested in any walnut veneer Art Deco pieces, let us know.  We have a vanity, dresser, wardrobe and a four piece dining room set (table w/ 6 chairs, 2 sideboards, and a glass front cabinet). All have some veneer and hardware issues consistent with age yet are available at very reasonable prices.

Spring is going by fast yet we are not ready for that all too warm summer weather yet.  Take a break from mowing and gardening this weekend to stop in and see what we have in the store.  Recent additions include two Shawnee Pottery pitchers, some Lu Ray Pastels, and a whole bag of linen.

I do have to close early Friday the 16th. I'll be leaving around 2 pm. Please accept our apologies if you had planned to visit that afternoon.

HAPPY EASTER.

We will be open throughout the Easter weekend.  Take a break from yard work, wander over after golf, bring your friends and family - just come in. We look forward to seeing you.

Spring rain is melting all our snow piles. Hopefully you live high above the creek beds.  We are anxious to see the sunny spring weather though while we wait, we'd be glad to offer you some new pieces at wonderfully low prices. Yes. Everyone is saying that I know.  And everyone means it - especially us.  Rick is looking to clear space so he can go back to some auctions.

I will be updating our inventory pages over the next couple days.  The latest piece brought in is a Martyn Bros fainting couch or lounge with a deep red rose tapestry - Yours for $800.

Okay. It's March and still cold out with the wind.  If while being inside all winter, you are thinking of any furniture changes, now is the time to stop by.  We will give you a great deal and free layaway is available with a minimal downpayment.

February 10th, 2010
We are currently digging our way out from under 3 plus feet of snow.  With the wind we have today, it's hard to tell what's out there.  We do hope to be open normal hours but call first before making a special trip.  Take a look at our inventory pages.  If there is something you like, email me and I will gladly send more pictures when I can.  If you are in the area, stay safe and warm.

February 2nd, 2010
I believe Winter has settled in.  It's cold outside!  It's warm in the shop though and Rick can deliver in between the snowfall so don't wait until Spring to pick out that piece.  You might consider a new look to your old dining room with these gorgeous oak pressed back chairs.

Happy New Year everyone!
2010 already - WOW.  Rick and I want to thank you.  We're very pleased to have moved plenty of inventory into your homes in the past  year. This means that if you haven't been by lately, you really should do so.  Things change every week it seems.

Beautiful any way you look at it - this vintage kitchen cabinet has the flour bin and  the porcelain green top pulls out for more usable space.  Come by for a look.

Our hours are for the most part,
Thursday and Friday 11 - 5; Saturday 10 - 6 and Sunday 12 -5.  Keep in mind, if you think you'll be arriving close to closing time, it's recommended you call us as we sometimes close up a bit early when it's stormy out.  Foot traffic in Hedgesville is slow during those times however we'll be more than happy to wait  if we know you are coming.

Take your time browsing the website. I try to update it weekly. If you like what you see here, hopefully you'll be able to visit our store where you can eye these wonderful items in person.  If you REALLY like something, give us a call and we'll be glad to put it on hold for you.  And do let me know if there is something, anything, amiss with the website.  Thanks.
