Welcome to
Kingfish's Antiques
A reminder of my grandfather's ways
Our store is an 1860's home filled with antique furniture, glassware, collectibles and accent pieces. The original logs are exposed throughout much of the home's interior making it the perfect setting for our inventory.

Happy 4th of July !!!
We are closing early today (unless you call) to celebrate with friends and neighbors. Rick will be here all day tomorrow and I know he'll be in a good mood after having such a fine dinner of grilled sausages.
Ask him about it when you stop by.

Hello. Thanks for stopping in on our website. We'd be thrilled to have you come by the store. Rick just brought in an old drop front desk with walnut veneer -- very classy. No pictures are posted yet so if you cannot make it by in person and you are interested, let me know.
On another note, you might consider sponsoring me as I train for the Inaugural Freedom's Run Marathon to be held October 3rd, 2009. To keep me motivated and out pounding the path, I am asking for charitable contributions of $1 per mile (total of $26.20) to the Patriot's Path Foundation, a non profit organization that helps veterans transition from the Martinsburg VA Medical Center Rehabilitation Program into real life.
You can make your donation electronically at the Donate tab.

Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's.
The summer humidity is here. I can tell because a lot of you are staying in. You might want to come out and see what Rick has on clearance though. Also if you are thinking of a piece, call us to put it on hold because pieces are going out the door. The red dry sink is sold and the neat little coal scuttle sold recently too.

So have you heard our radio ad? If so, let me know. We are wondering if anyone has heard it. Just today we moved in a new antique drop front desk piece plus we have a couple old mirrors and antique frames. Come on by and take a look. Myself or Rick will be here Thursday thru Sunday.

It is about to get hot - I can feel it. So before it gets too hot, come on into town and check out the new Olde Towne Gift Shoppes. Three new little shops have opened in the old Knit Shoppe location. They have soy candles, jewerly, and home decor. Go to our In Town page for more info and links to their websites.
And we still have a lot of low priced inventory we would be happy to send or deliver to your home. Of nothing else, it's a good diversion from the yard and house work. Rick says that can wait another day.

Happy Mother's Day
The piece shown on the left here is for those who desire a more classic modern look. We have a few empire dressers worthy of consideration if this is your decorating taste. This one pictured has plenty of storage space in the four elegantly curved front drawers with two glove boxes on top. We also have one with a glassfront case on top and another in storage with an even more dramatic line.

And for anyone who may be interested in a farm table, come take a look. Rick and I brought one inside the store. We also have the beautiful dark stained oak dresser pictured below. The tiger honey oak is sold so don't dilly dally if you like this one. It is wood dowel construction! Very nifty. And in the store we also have an oak wardrobe that stands 79" tall overall and is 46" wide across the top molding. It is a must see. The pictures did not do it justice.

The Art Deco vanity shown below left has a matching dresser, side tables, and full bed headboard footboard. Yours for $275. The small oak dresser is only $140 and the bentwood chair - take a pair home for $30.

Is it raining at your place also? Too wet to golf? Even too wet to weed the garden huh? Well then, come out to see what we have in the store. There are plenty of rockers, a variety of chairs and lots of dressers with or without mirrors. We just sold a very nice tall oak dresser but we have one more in a dark stain that is round peg construction. Quite nice indeed.
The other exciting new old piece in the house is actually a two piece hall tree. It is very nice. A mirror flanked by four coat hooks with a matching bench with a lift top seat to reveal storage.
If oak is not your thing, don't stay away. We have a couple empire pieces that are awesome. I've had people just dying to take them home but they did not have the room. We cannot have everything.

Tax day is now come and gone. If you still have any money, feel free to spend it on furniture, glassware or you might consider starting a collection. Collectibles are one form of investment. We have a few glass paperweights, souvenir ruby flash glass, an old child's pull toy and lots of vintage kitchenware. Come by and say HI. This warmer sunny weather always puts us in a good mood. How about you?

HAPPY EASTER
We do anticipate being closed Easter Sunday so don't hesitate, bring your friends and family in today or tomorrow. Rick will be thrilled to see you. The Hoosier style cabinet shown below is still available and if you enjoy a more modern look, we have a beautiful glass cabinet. You might consider a set of pink depression glass sherberts or a round peach lace tablecloth that is simply lovely.

Put your jacket on and come on over. The roses are not yet in bloom out back though inside we have fresh cut daffodils to brighten the place up. We also have new albeit old pieces of furniture including a gorgeous restored Hoosier style kitchen cabinet. A round quaker lace tablecloth, glass paperweights, vintage kitchen utensils and a glass cabinet are among the other items Rick brought back from recent estate sales. Hope to see you soon.
STILL IN STORE

Beautiful any way you look at it - this vintage kitchen cabinet has the flour bin and the porcelain green top pulls out for more usable space. Come by for a look.

It is still chilly but not cold. This weather is more suited to shopping than gardening so come on by. We have some March Madness markdowns happy to see Maryland, Western Kentucky and Cleveland State win. Not sure if I mentioned these new pieces or not - a flax spinning wheel, a Globe Wernicke lawyers bookcase and chairs - we have chairs. Come see.

The chill is back. Of course it is still only March so no one should complain. I do have a few interesting items to mention. Rick brought back an old wood handled cloth floral parasol from his last auction along with a wooden pull toy that is quite uniquely simple if you ask me. AND a very nice antique floor lamp with a carved post and ornate metal base. He also found some more chairs and bought some souvenir ruby flash glass plus a couple small pitcher and bowl sets. The parasol is hard to capture in a photograph as is the floor lamp but I will try so be sure to look through the inventory picture album.

The weather is a bit dreary. Prices remain low. It won't last however. The daffodils are popping thru to tell us Spring is just around the corner. Only 2 more days for fantastic February markdowns.

The latest is SOLD already. A beautiful glass top drop front secretary is out the door almost as fast as it came in. Do not hesitate. Prices are great this time of year as others have found out. Rick will be back from his favorite auction in Tennessee. Come by to see what he's found. Sounds like we'll have a variety of chairs, some Luray dishes, a flax wheeel and bookcases to bring in the store when he returns.
Until it's gone I will remind everyone of the 3 board 6 foot farm table in stock BUT it is in storage at a location other than the store. Call us if you are interested.
Our hours will remain for the most part,
Thursday and Friday 11 - 5; Saturday 10 - 6 and Sunday 12 -5. Keep in mind, if you think you'll be arriving close to closing time, it's recommended you call us as we sometimes close up a bit early when it's dark & dreary out. Foot traffic in Hedgesville is slow at times however we'll be more than happy to wait if we know you are coming.
Take your time browsing the website. I try to update it weekly. If you like what you see here, hopefully you'll be able to visit our store where you can eye these wonderful items in person. If you REALLY like something, give us a call and we'll be glad to put it on hold for you. And do let me know if there is something, anything, amiss with the website. Thanks.
